Huffy’s Freestyle powerhouse Nick Bruce joined the team in early 2024, and has not slowed down momentum since.
Nick has continued to grow both personally and professionally since joining the team, and we’ve loved having a front-row seat.
Born in Hubbard, Ohio, Nick discovered his love for BMX at just 8 years old after watching the X Games on TV.
He hopped on his sister’s bike and never looked back, learning to launch off tree stumps and truly homemade jumps in
his yard before he ever hit a real skatepark.

The Athlete
Nick has made his mark in BMX through technical innovation and fearless progression.
He was the first rider to land a flair tailwhip to tailwhip back—known as the flair windshield
wiper—and helped pioneer the 360 double tailwhip to downside tailwhip. His achievements are well
worth boasting about, but Nick is one of the most humble and down-to-earth professional athletes
you’ll ever meet. His impressive career includes being an inaugural member of the U.S.
Olympic BMX Freestyle team, 6 podium finishes at the UCI BMX Freestyle World Cups (2 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze)
and appearances at highly-regarded competitions like X Games, Red Bull Featured, Munich Mash,
and more where he’s become known for his explosive park runs and high-level trick combos.
Nick’s dedication to the sport is unwavering - he even built his own indoor training facility “the Brewhouse”
in Cleveland to keep pushing his riding year-round. That space, and the discipline it represents, has been
instrumental in helping him refine his style and stay at the top of his game. Nick shares that space with fellow riders,
and even puts on mini clinics there through his charitable organization, the Bruce BMX Foundation.

Outside of BMX, Nick’s wife, Chelsea, and their son, Fernando, keep him grounded and only add to his purpose and drive to succeed.
When he’s not on his bike, he’s spending time with his family and their three dogs in beautiful Cleveland, Ohio!
